Stucco fine putty

Short description

Stucco fine putty is a luxurious lime-based finishing material for creating smooth, marble-like surfaces indoors. The material makes it possible to achieve both a matte or a high gloss end result, and is particularly suitable for bathrooms and other damp rooms thanks to its naturally mold-inhibiting properties.

  • Binder: marble-lime hydrate
  • Tools: Venetian trowel, plastic smoother
  • Layers: 2โ€“3 thin layers
  • Substrates: mineral plasters, concrete, primed gypsum board, fibre-gypsum board, fleece wallpaper

Stucco fine putty is a fine-grained marble-lime putty that allows the creation of decorative surfaces resembling smooth cloudy marble. Thanks to its natural lime, the material is breathable and has a high pH, which inhibits mold growth. The final result depends largely on the application technique and can be treated with both gloss soap and Punic wax to achieve different levels of depth and glossiness.

Features

  • Based on marble-lime and marble powder
  • Natural mineral composition
  • Does not contain preservatives
  • Odourless and diffuse
  • Abrasion-resistant surface
  • High pH (~13) โ€“ naturally mold-inhibiting
  • Natural white tone
  • Can be tinted with pigments up to 10%
  • Water-repelling after treating with gloss soap
  • Very glossy after treating with Punic waxx
  • Vegan

Layers and consumption

  • First layer: 150โ€“200 g/mยฒ
  • Second and third layer: 50โ€“80 g/mยฒ for each layer
  • Total consumption depends on the substrate and technique
  • Usually 2โ€“3 thin layers

Substrate

  • Clean, dry and strong
  • Uniformly absorbent and dust-free
  • Suitable for mineral plasters, concrete and primed gypsum boards
  • Not suitable for wood, plastic, oil paints, dispersion paints and constantly wet surfaces

Tools

  • Venetian trowel
  • Plastic smoother
  • A mixer for mixing pigments

Installation instructions

1. Preparation of the Substrate

Surface must be clean, dry, stable and uniformly absorbent. Remove dust, fat, loose layers and mold. If necessary repair damages and prime the surface.

2. Material preparation

Mix 1 kg of powder with about 0,5โ€“0,55 l of cold water. Let stand for a minimum of 30 minutes and then mix again. For best workability, it’s recommended to prepare the mixture the previous day.

3. Application

Apply to the surface with a Venetian trowel in 2โ€“3 thin layers. First layer levels the substrate, following layers are to form the decorative marble-like end result. Work using small trowel movements in different directions.

4. Finishing

Treating with gloss soap makes the surface water-repellent and deepends the visual effect. For a high-gloss result, the surface can be finished with Punic wax after drying.

5. Drying and conditions

  • Working temperature min. +8 ยฐC
  • Can be painted over after 12โ€“20 hours (at +20 ยฐC)
  • Protect against too rapid drying

6. Maintenance

Clean with a soft cloth or brush. Avoid acidic cleaners. Remove wet stains instantly.
