Fortis Rinzaffo
Fortis Rinzaffo is a natural lime- and pozzolan-based bonding coat that improves adhesion between the substrate and plaster. The material is breathable and elastic, and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is particularly well suited for restoration work and natural construction solutions.

Composition

Fortis Rinzaffo is a natural mineral bonding coat based on air lime and natural pozzolans. The product is designed to improve the adhesion of plaster systems to various substrates and provide a breathable and durable base coat for both new construction and restoration work.

Working conditions and technical specifications
- Recommended layer thickness: approx. 5 mm (at most 10 mm)
- Consumption: approx. 13โ14 kg/mยฒ (per 10 mm layer)
- Mixing ratio: approx. 5โ6 l water / 25 kg dry mix
- Application: by hand with a trowel or using a plastering machine
- Substrate must be clean, stable, dust-free and pre-moistened
- Apply next plaster coat only after the previous has fully dried
- Working temperature: +5 ยฐC up to +35 ยฐC
Additional recommendations
- For problematic areas and at joints between different materials, use an alkali-resistant reinforcing mesh
- Protect the fresh surface from drying too fast (sun, wind)
- Keep surface moistened if necessary, to prevent cracking
- Make a sample surface prior to starting work to achieve an optimal result
- Substrate preparation
- Substrate must be clean, stable and solid
- Remove all loose material, dust, dirt, salts, grease, wax and mold
- If necessary, fill cracks and holes with a suitable repair mortar
- Moisten the surface before application (especially in hot weather moisten it the day before as well)
- At the time of application, the substrate should be damp but not dripping wet
- Mix preparation
- Mix 25 kg of the dry mix to approx. 5โ6 litres of clean water
- Use a concrete or mechanical mixer for mixing
- Mix until it has a uniform consistency without lumps
- Let the mixture rest for 10โ15 minutes before use
- Application
- Moisten the substrate right before starting work
- Apply material to the surface using a trowel or a plastering machine
- Recommended layer thickness approx. 5 mm (at most 10 mm)
- Leave the surface rough to ensure a better adhesion for the following plaster coat
- Reinforcement
- At construction joints (e.g. between concrete and masonry), use alkali-resistant reinforcing mesh
- Also use reinforcing mesh on repaired areas and low absorption substrates
- Drying and aftercare
- Protect the surface from direct sunlight, wind and rapid drying
- If necessary, moisten the surface to prevent cracking and dusting
- Apply the following plaster coat only after full drying and hardening
- Working conditions
- Working temperature: +5 ยฐC up to +35 ยฐC
- Avoid working in strong winds and direct sunlight
